Gecko, Gecko, Who's got a Gecko?

I don't have much to say. One of my friends is competing to be Mrs. Idaho. She had a dance fundraiser for it Friday night (pageanting (new word, Ha) is expensive and also my personal nightmare). Different strokes for different folks. We took our kids and cut up the dance floor.

On Saturday we got a family pet. I never thought we would ever get a pet BUT seeing that gecko exhibit over Spring Break changed my mind. Those are pretty cool, and they are quiet, and low maintenance and inexpensive. Winning. The kids are in love. I may need to look online to see if too much attention is harmful to geckos because these kids are hardly putting "spot" down.

That is about all. I am getting tired of dealing with homework and other school shenanigans but I'm certainly not ready for all four kids all day all summer. Ha.

My friend let Piper put on her crown. She was SO excited!

We went to Corbin's classroom presentation.

Dance Scootie, Dance.

Yikes!

Update

Stand outs of the week. Scott started his new job on Monday. It should be good. It's going to be an adjustment for both of us. Scott hasn't really had a typical office 9-5 job. Although right now is schedule is 7-3. The kids were out of school on Tuesday so we went to Kung Fu Panda 3. That was Ryan's first time at the movie theater. He did pretty good. I still don't like to take kids under 3 to the theater if I can avoid it. Afterwards we got some ice cream cones. I went with Corbin on his field trip to the botanical gardens. He did that field trip in Kindergarten. Oh well. It is pretty and I took a Clartin and didn't sneeze or have to blow my nose once. Victory.

On Friday Scott and I went on a date on my friend Tommi's dime. She was thanking me for painting her kitchen chairs. That was nice of her. We had a gift card to the The Counter in The Village. It was good. I am the least adventurous person I know. The whole set up of that restaurant is for you to create whatever kind of burger or sandwich you want but I ordered a grilled cheese regular style and it didn't disappoint. Ha. Scott ordered a tai peanut sauce burger with mozzarella, spinach and dried cranberries. Seriously? Give me a straight up grilled cheese if you please, with a shake on the side. Afterwards we went to the hospital to visit our friend. He got in a motorcycle accident on Monday and broke his pelvis, ankle, wrist and 11 ribs.YIKES. So bad. He was wearing a helmet thank goodness. His wife, my good friend, just had her 5th baby three weeks ago. Stressful situation for sure.

This is the house at the garden. I am in LOVE with it. It has a big porch and a brick fireplace on the side. LOVE.  (I should have tried to take a better picture). Ha.

Baby Shower

Kelsey came to visit for part of her Spring Break (she's a teacher). She flew in Thursday night and we watched a movie that night. On Friday we went to Kneaders for breakfast (so good!) and went shopping. That afternoon I went to my friend's wedding. That night she and I went to Delsa's for some ice cream and she went with me to a reception. She went over to Gabe's house that night to chat with all of the family over there. I stayed home and watched a movie with Scott and went to bed.

On Saturday we went to a school event for Corbin. His after school program had to build a boat and they tested it on the principal to see if it floated. Corbin's boat floated! It was awesome. After that I came home and got ready for Kelsey's baby shower.  My mom and sister Trisha came over to help me get ready for the shower.

The shower was good, we played a few games and had some yummy food and chatted. That evening we got pizza and ate it at the park and later Kelsey and I watched a movie and went to bed. She flew home today. It was fun to have her visit.

That's about it. The weather has been amazing.

Painted Garage Windows

Last week I mostly worked on home improvements and spring cleaning. The yard was a mess of sticks and weeds. I've done a lot of work on the inside of my house and I wanted to do something to the outside. I've decided to hold off on painting for now because I can't decide how to paint it anyway. The outside of my house is mostly garage so I decided that making my garage door cuter would go a long way. I was looking up cute garage doors with windows and that would have cost between $1,000 and $2,000. I decided it was worth trying the vinyl stickers first. I bought the hardware for cheap at Home Depot and Scott put them on. When the stickers arrived in the mail they were the wrong size. I decided to just paint windows on instead. I should have done that in the first place. I already had the tape and paint. Oh well. So I painted the windows on and it looks great. I mean it's not the real deal but I saved $1,000 so I think it's totally worth it. I also had Scott change out our gold door handle and I spray painted our gold house numbers black. I spray painted my turquoise rocking chair gray and bought a wreath and pillow and BOOM the outside of my house has a whole new look. Now all I need is a cute window box on the front of the house. I'm thinking that will make a great mother's day present.

Scott got the job we were hoping for. He starts on the 11th. We are excited. The company seems great and he's excited/nervous. He was especially excited that they didn't want him to start for 2 weeks so he could enjoy a little more freedom and down time. He has been working on his nerd video game you-tube channel after all.

Here are some pictures from Scott's phone and some home improvements.

The girls' dance teacher does so many fun things. The girls LOVE it.

The weather has been a amazing last week. Took the girls (and friend) for half price sonic drinks.
