Charly's First Week

Lucky for us Krista (owner of Ruby, aka Charly's mamma) is a great dog mom! She had Charly already crate trained to sleep at night...amazing. She sent us home with a giant bag of things we would need to care for Charly. Charly has adjusted to living with our family very well. Sometimes she can be very whiny when she is alone with Scott while he is working but she is adjusting to it. She hangs with Scott in the shed during the day and has backyard adventures while she waits for the kids to get home from school to play with her. We are still trying to potty train her and she is having accidents in the house but she is getting better. Fingers crossed she makes fast progress there. I have a couple of dog training books I need to try to read. For the most part it's been an easy adjustment, it's having to worry about what to do with her when we leave town that will be new and annoying. I found someone to watch her while we go to Mexico. Huzzah.

Work is whatever, it's up and down and all around. Ha. Teaching is a hard job, there's so many moving pieces constantly. There's always 10,000 things to do as well. Luckily there are a lot of good days to make the bad days more manageable.

Scott is liking his new position. I'm so glad he can work in the shed. It's nice to have a designated spot for him to be. SO NICE!

Nothing new with the kids. Piper joined dance again and is liking it. Gabby loves Charly on another level. Ryan has been moved back to his bed without a pull up. He has had a couple of accidents. If the accidents are a lot I will move him back to my room with the alarm pad again, or try the alarm pad in his room. Corbin has adjusted to High School fine and continues to be the most chill easy going kid ever.

Charly is Officially Ours!

We have our puppy! She is sooooooo cute! I can't really think about all of the things because I get overwhelmed but she is the cutest and Gabby in particular loves her so much! I've been thinking about getting a dog for years and the stars aligned for us to get this one. Having Scott working from home is huge. It will be interesting how he and Charly do hanging out in the shed all day. I've ordered some books and Gabby is teaching her tricks. She's doing pretty good with going to the bathroom outside. We will see how this week goes!

Nothing new with school stuff I usually go from feeling on top of things to feeling behind every other day and feeling like an amazing teacher and like a garbage teacher every other day. There are always 10,000 things to do and a million moving pieces, but it's fine, it's fine, it's totally fine.

Scott is feeling good about his job. I think it's perfect personally. It is so nice to have a little more flexibility. He was able to go and pick up Corbin when he needed it last week and he will have more flexibility during the holidays. It should be good!

Piper had a friends birthday party yesterday. We went to Urban Air and they played for a few hours and then ended up at our house for presents and cupcakes. It was perfect. Well, that's all. September is flying by! We will be in Mexico in the blink of an eye!

That face!

Gabby and Charly are always together.

First Cooking Lab

Last week was pretty good. I had my first cooking lab and I didn't let kids cook that had missing work and I didn't let 7th period cook because they are the worst. The labs ran well and the students know I mean business so hopefully things can continue to flow and progress. Scott finished his first solo week of work. It is going well. Being a financial advisor is a perfect fit for him. The kids are doing well in school. Nothing much to report. Ryan graduated from his night training program. As soon as he finished he had a couple of accidents. The program says that's normal and to not make a big deal of it. He moved back into his room last night. I'll be curious how it goes. If he starts having lots of accidents we will just do some training again. Fingers crossed he is done! It was nice to put away the mattress on the floor. Alright, that's it!

Weekly visit with Charly. I think we might get her next week. It depends on how much progress she makes this week. Her face!

Ryan helped me make some cinna-minis today.

Piper's Birthday

School is going pretty good. I'm still working on my classes but I am seeing improvements. This week will be the first cooking lab so it will be interesting to see how they do. It was Piper's birthday on Friday. Nana, Papa, Colie, and Rustin came up to celebrate with us. I started getting cold symptoms on Friday so I spent most of my time in my room Friday and Saturday just to be safe. I'm feeling pretty close to normal now. I made Piper her birthday cake today and her favorite dinner for tonight (lasagna). Everyone has been hanging out today. Some people went to visit the puppies and then they took Piper shopping at the mall for her birthday. I'm sure PoJos will be on the docket for tomorrow. More birthday celebration pictures to come.

Piper's teacher made her that sign. Cutest!

I went to a paint night with my friends. It was fun but doing things on weeknights can be tough.

Cute Ryan.

Ryan finished up his last session of Therapee. He gets to be done in two weeks. He's been doing fantastic.
