This last week went by SLOWLY for me. We didn't have anything really planned but I managed to get the kids out doing something all week. We went to the dollar movies on Tuesday. On Tuesday night I had book club with my post mo book club. It was great. We read The Invention of Wings which is an interesting read and based on a true story. It deals with issues of slavery and feminism. We had a great discussion. I love those ladies.
On Friday night Scott and I went on a short date. I helped my friend clean and organize her house and in exchange she gave me a Cricut which I just figured out how to use (with the help of a friend) and she watched our kids while we went out. We went to The Habit for the first time. It was good, I am a fan. Afterwards we went to Kleiner park for a bit before we picked up our kids.
On Saturday morning we decided to drive up to Bogus Basin just for fun and check it out. When we got there we got out and walked on a path for a bit. It was fun. I love little adventures like that and I love nature. Piper was not into it and she was DRAMA mama the whole time. On the way home I decided I wasn't done playing so I thought we should have tin foil dinners and float the canal that night. After that we built a fire in our backyard for the first time ever and had smore's.
Work has not been awesome lately. I'm hoping that something is up because of summer. My bookings are really down. I usually teach a lot of trial classes and I haven't been booked for any for a couple of weeks. I don't know why. I'm on a Facebook group for VIP teachers and some people have complained about their bookings slowing down but others are completely booked. I also got asked to be a sub this week. It ended up be a disaster. I was on my computer but I couldn't tell that I had a last minute class booked and I didn't see the message until it was too late. I got 2 teacher no shows in a row. That doesn't look good for the parents and I had to pay $20. It just sucks because I was right there. The communication is not always great with the company. OH WELL! I know what to do now if that ever happens again. My bookings are really low this week. Boo! Hopefully they will pick back up.
I'm looking into subbing this year. Scott's schedule is flexible enough that we can work around each other. I'm thinking I will try to sub maybe one or two days a week. We will see. I was working on the application and it's a bear. I'm making my way through. I have to find a couple of people to write me a reference letter which is hard when I haven't worked in 10 years. I messaged a couple of people and I haven't heard back from them yet. Fingers crossed!
