Quarantine Week 7

Things are same old same old around here. Well I guess different in that I had to start doing busy work from home full time. That's been annoying no doubt. It's not that big of a deal but it's definitely more annoying than not doing it. I found an audio book about autism on my phone and some autism podcasts so I listen to those for lots of hours a day. I do them while I'm exercising, getting ready, cleaning, doing errands, whatever. I've been counting my home school hours with my kids and then some online training videos and a training book that I have. I'm hoping the library opens soon because I have a classroom management book on hold there and I could count my hours reading that if I could ever get a hold of it.

Kids are same old same old. Piper doesn't care for home school. Gabby doesn't care for quarantine life. Scott and I have  been trying to think of ways that Corbin in particular could be more active and spend more time outside. Scott came up with an idea that I was weary of at first (as was Corbin) but we both got on board when we got more comfortable with the idea. Scott will hide some action figure dudes that he has around the neighborhood and give Corbin clues as to where he can find them. I added that Gabby also join him as that makes me more comfortable and Gabby is always down for an adventure. He has to complete so many missions (not sure yet) and then he will earn some sweet computer upgrades. They have completed two missions so far, both with me. At some point they will probably go alone but who knows I love walking outside so I may always tag along. So far it's been a success but we will see how it goes as it goes...

Scott's birthday is tomorrow so we have already began celebrating. On Friday night we had a BBQ with the Millers (full disclosure they are out best friends and the one family we have kept in contact with during quarantine times). It's been REALLY nice to be able to have play dates and before I started working from home Kimberly and I would get together and sew masks while the kids played. It was so nice! Scott and I are going to go on a birthday date tonight and go have some take out in a park. Later tonight we will have some birthday pudding dessert. Tomorrow I will make him a special birthday dinner. We will also go drop off a gift at his work. The bank is opening its doors to people again starting tomorrow so it might be nuts.

Scott continues to work hard in the yard planting bushes, trees, and laying down dirt and bark. More pics later.

Phase 1 of reopening of Boise has begun. Most businesses have opened or will open tomorrow. I did several errands today and I wore a mask but not a lot of people are wearing masks. I am going to be very curious is the virus blows up and we have to shut everything down again or not. Luckily the weather is heating up and the virus doesn't like the heat (I think) so it should be going down anyway...I wonder if the pools will be closed this summer, that will make me sad! I'm worried about school in the fall when the virus is supposed to come back even worse. Oh well. We will deal with that when that day comes. Okay long enough. Peace out!

Gabby and Scott spreading bark.

It looks nice! We also added a pathway to help our struggling grass even though Scott replaced it twice last summer. It just doesn't like to grow there.

Garden box.
Piper has not loved doing her home school work but she did love her rotocopter that she made to show how some seeds can fly.
Corbin captured his quest funko pop character.

The kids were playing a game together in their forced outside time. It was cute!

Shooting some hoops (also in forced outside time). Ha.

Gabby and me on the quest.
